My Students

In an educational system overrun by standardized tests, it can be hard to show students just how fun learning can be. It is my hope that this project will allow my students to have fun while using technology to learn.

Our school is located east of Nashville in Wilson County.

It serves close to 650 kindergarten through fifth grade students. 20 to 25% of students qualify for free or reduced lunch. I teach 41 students in a two block period. All of my students can read close to, on, or above grade level.

My Project

The Chromebooks will create a technology center in our classroom. Students will be able to conduct research projects, use educational reading and writing apps, visit educational websites, and listen to audio books. The Chromebooks will also allow students to practice their typing skills which is a skill many lack due to the popularity of tablets.

The Wilson County School System has been generous enough to provide many online resources for students.

The challenge is accessing these resources. This project will improve our classroom by allowing students to use all the resources at their disposal to fall in love with learning.
