Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
Everyday, students conclude their lunchtime with silent reading. You can make a difference on how they spent these 15 minutes a day, 75 minutes a week, 4500 minutes a month! Let's captivated their excitement for science with fun science comic and fact books!
Our school has a supportive and diverse community that consists of both low and middle socioeconomic youth. We have many gifted students as well numerous English learners and newcomers who just recently immigrated to the United States (mostly Spanish-speaking).
My Project
By building a science library in my class with comic books and fact books, students can read these books during silent reading and class time. Spanish comic books are especially helpful for Spanish-speaking students to understand difficult science concepts. Gifted students can also read these books when they finish their work early.
Your contribution will provide another route for Spanish speaking students to understand difficult concepts in science. These books are fun and easy-to-understand, and will excite and motivate students about science. Also, they will keep gifted students engage and excited about the mysteries in science.
