Help me give my students supplies to build an Occupational Therapists room- students who need support in fine and gross motor skills as well as life skill development.
Our school is a wonderfully close knit school of kids who have grown up in 4-class grades since kindergarten- they all know and care for each other. We offer a variety of STEM, music and athletic programs for our kids- it could not possibly be a more enriching elementary experience!
Our kids feel safe, happy, and show a deep love of both the building and each other!
The staff largely live in town, and the investment in education is deep!
My Project
Our current OT space is woefully inadequate- a closet, off the gym! We are attempting to build a functional OT space for all of our students.
Having students hang objects on hooks- using whiteboards and write-on manipulatives helps develop both fine and gross motor skills!
We have about 35 kids who get OT services, and these supports are needed to help them both in and out of school! These services run the gamut of thinks like learning to tie shoes, holding a pencil properly, buttoning a coat, or even how to put up your hair. Things that our students need to master in order to be successful independently! Thank you for your support!!
