My students need a kiln, and the furniture that holds up their creations inside of the kiln.
This project expired on June 13, 2018.
Hooray! This project is fully funded
Our school is in a very rural setting of Texas, in a small town. Most students that come to our school are from an economically disadvantaged background. This, however, does not extinguish their curiosity or love of art - just the opposite.
Most students that come into my room have hope in their eyes and want to explore different mediums.
I think that art can be a great escape from any troubles they may be facing. They love creating art in my room and many times are so proud that they give their finished piece to a loved one as a gift.
At the beginning of the school year, I surveyed each and every art student that takes art at Hempstead High School. I asked them what type of art project would EXCITE them. The OVERWHELMING response was clay, sculpture, ceramics, etc. All of these mediums require something - a KILN!
That is where I come to you for help.
We do not have it in our budget to buy a kiln, and all of the supplies that go with it right now. Please help us to make the student's artistic dreams a reality, by donating to our budding ceramics art program.
