Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My students live in a lower income area in New Jersey. Many of them qualify for free or reduced-price lunch. Even though they are not afforded all the opportunities that other affluent areas can afford, they still come to school each day excited about learning.
My students all receive daily intervention RTI (Response to Intervention) services for reading.
My students are not currently reading at grade level, but intervention services will help them become better and stronger readers! Please help my students become more confident readers!
My Project
My students need everyday supplies for our classroom. We need flashcards to practice reading our new sight words. We also love smelly stickers and work hard each session to earn a sticker for our collection. We also need hands-on materials to practice our skills in writing and phonics. Writing with dry erase markers is much more fun than on pencil and paper!
We need magnetic letters to practice identifying letters.
We also need these letters to practice building words. We are so excited to have these materials in our classroom and we are so appreciative of donors for helping make this wish come true!
