Help me give my students the opportunity to use flexible seating to better focus their attention in addition too easy to read words and Steam Set games to use within the classroom.
What I love about my students is how hard they try day in and day out. My students are struggling readers, however they do not let this stop them. All of my students have IEP‘s which they have to work harder than other students in their class to reach the same goals. My students are determined and eager to catch up to their friends to show that everyone is capable of reaching goals. All of my students have a reading disability in addition to supports. My students need additional materials such as finger gadgets and flexible seating that helps them to be comfortable when learning these new skills.
My Project
The flexible seating will be used during our hybrid model of learning. The flexible seating will be easy to clean to protect from germs in addition to giving students a way to move their bodies while focusing on the lesson that is at hand.
Students will be able to use the easy reading set on zoom and in person.
Students will be able to use it on zoom by incorporating a document camera and allowing the students to tell me which piece needs to go to which puzzle. This will be used to break up the amount of work that they have to do and make it fun or for them to apply different skills that we are learning.
Furthermore for the stems that students will be able to use this on our flex Fridays while we have our meetings. Since will look forward to playing a game instead of doing reading passages. Since this site has all four content areas it will make it easier to switch it up each Friday and give the student something to look forward to.
