I teach at a Title I, Spanish dual immersion school. My fourth graders are lucky to have a great opportunity to experience a unique learning experience with such a rich culture.
Our students are eager to learn.
They love learning new things and they love going deeper into learning. When we present them with new information, they take it and run with it. It is fun to watch them learn and grow while learning about things that are completely new to them.
My Project
I am asking for wobble stools and a classroom rug. The wobble stools will be a great addition for flexible seating. Flexible seating allows children to take charge of their learning and to make choices that best suit them. During independent work times, they are free to pick where they sit and work.
My students are noticeably more engaged in their work and less disruptive of their peers when they are given a choice of where to work.
I am also asking for the beautiful rug because I do not have a rug yet. I would like it to use for circle time where we learn how to collaborate with one another and develop our Social-Emotional skills. We will also use it for a lot of our math lessons.
