My Students

My students are sweet little five and six year olds who live in the shadow of the mountains. The county is nestled at the edge of Appalachia, and some of the children really do not have much at home. However, they are great kids who are eager to learn and have fun at school.

Many of my students receive free and reduced lunch and breakfast.

A lot do not come from stable homes. Some are even considered homeless. I am here to ask you for different items to make the classroom a safe, comfortable, and fun learning environment.

My Project

Kindergarten is a big adjustment for any child. Kindergarten today is a lot more academic then it once was. Flexible seating is a way for them to change up where they are sitting and how they are sitting each day and throughout the day. Stools like the ones in this project give them options of ways to sit at their assigned seat and flexible floor seating gives them options of where to sit while in centers or read to self. This helps active little learners to stay focused to learn and be active at the same time. Please help us achieve a more flexible classroom setting so the kids can explore their learning abilities more thoroughly while still getting to be kids.
