My Students

Our school is located in a very beautiful and scenic place in a quiet and humble small town. It is the center of the town's activities and supported by parents and community members.

Our school population is approximately 250 wonderful students and is considered to be a high poverty school.

As budget cuts continue, it is more difficult each year to purchase materials for students such as high-interest books that inspire greatness. My students need these books for motivation and to learn about perseverance and how to deal with personal issues. This is an opportunity for you to impact my students in a very personal way.

My Project

Our fifth grade students progress throughout the year in fluency and comprehension and move toward more complex books at the end of the school year. Fifth grade graduation provides a great opportunity to inspire students to read over the summer before entering middle school. In 5th grade, we read the first book in the Harry Potter series to peak interest and to maintain high interest in reading.

At 5th grade graduation and with your donations, we will be able to present our students with their very own copy of the second book in the Harry Potter series, "The Chamber of Secrets."
