My students need new library books to update our outdated books and spark their imagination! They also need comfortable seating, including 2 rockers and a Comfort Chairs And Table Set, to enjoy reading their new books!
This year, I hope I can help to update our library. In doing this, I hope to spark my students love for reading so they can fall in love with books! As Dr. Seuss said, "The more that you read, the more things you will know. The more that you learn, the more places you'll go!"
My students range from kindergarten - eighth grade.
They are eager to learn and have been slowly getting excited about reading as I work to update our library. They love the look of new, colorful books that aren't yellowed, ripped or outdated. Those new, colorful books are the types of books that fly off the shelf, but unfortunately many of our books fit into the other category (yellowed, ripped, old, and outdated).
We are a small rural school, which is nice when we're talking about small class sizes, but it isn't so nice when it comes to my budget. Because we are small, we don't receive much money from the state and my budget is minimal.
I'd love to fill the shelves with new, colorful books so more and more books will fly off the shelves into the hands of students who will love to read them!
My Project
The books and seating that I'm requesting for my library will help to get more books into the hands of my students during library class and outside of it as well when they check the books out and take them home;
With these resources, more students will be reading and learning to love books, and sit in comfortable chairs, which will help students to become more successful in school, and in turn, LIFE! That's a huge chain of events that can be put into action simply by updating some books in a small school library!

As I mentioned before, the more books we can get into the hands of students, the better they will get at reading. If they're good at reading, they'll have a much better chance at being successful in all aspects of their lives!
