My Students
My students amaze me each and every day! This kindergarten classroom is filled with students speaking a variety of languages, and come from all kinds of backgrounds. Some students are here as refugees from another country, some are currently living in homeless shelters with their families, while others live in apartments with several families.
Despite their circumstances, they come to school each day ready to learn with a smile on their face!
My students work hard each and every day in order to get ready for first grade. Each student has similar but different goals to achieve each day and everyone is making progress toward their goal. I want all my students to be proud of their accomplishments no matter how small.
My Project
My students need a place to keep their belongings from home that is separate from the other children in the class. At the kindergarten age, lice is a huge problem constantly, it is also extremely difficult to get rid of and many of my students do not receive the proper treatments to kill the lice and their eggs.
Also, the places that my students are living are not always the cleanest places, and bed bugs are a real problem they deal with every day.
I am hoping that with these lockers I will be able to help prevent the spread of these bugs because the students' coats and backpacks will no longer be touching each other in the coat room.
