My Students

I work with a small group of students from each grade level for reading and math throughout the day. My classroom is set up to meet the wide range of needs from grades K-6 at our school.

My students are working hard to learn the foundational skills they need in reading and math.

They are learning different strategies to help them be successful in their classrooms. We work together and help encourage and motivate one another to meet their goals!

My Project

This is my first year in my position. I don't have a wide range of books for students from grades K-6. I need to build my classroom library to reach the diverse interests and needs of my students. The current books I have are for lower grades and most are fictional books. The upper grade books that I have are few and outdated.

I use these books to introduce different reading strategies to help my students with their reading comprehension.

They also use these books to practice using these strategies and to build on their reading fluency. Building our classroom library will hopefully build on my students' reading skills and their love for reading will grow!
