I teach in a Title I school, where 98 percent of our students receive free lunch. We are an inclusion classroom, which means that we have both special- and general-education students, and we work in a collaborative, team-teaching setting. Our third-grade class is studying various forms of literature in our reading and writing workshop curriculum. In order to help our students grow to have a love of literature, we would like to expose them to a different form of literature through the performing arts. Theatreworks USA is a not-for-profit theater for young audiences. They offer a live production of "Charlotte's Web" with follow-up activities for the students to enhance their understanding of the story. Most of our students are from very low-income families and do not get an opportunity to be exposed to performing arts. We would love to have our students be granted such a wonderful opportunity! Children learn in many different ways, and by giving them every chance, we will also give them a greater opportunity to succeed. Thank you for helping them have this opportunity.
