Help me give my students the necessary basic supplies such as crayons, pencils, dry erase markers and glue sticks to keep learning interactive and exciting.
This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
My students are a diverse group of first graders in a Title I school. They are each unique with different learning styles and interests. Despite their differences, they come to school each day with open minds and open hearts and are ready to tackle the day.
Their passion for learning and the desire to do well is what makes them so phenomenal.
My students are thinkers. They persevere and support each other when learning new concepts. They build each other up. They feel comfortable taking risks and making mistakes. These students have built relationships with not only me, but also with each other. In our classroom, we are like a family. We laugh together, grow together, and they encourage each other to be the best version of themselves that they can be.
My Project
Crunch, crunch, munch, munch, munch. The supply monster struck again and ate all of our supplies. I can’t believe how hungry he was after 3 months of school. My students are now in need of some basic classroom supplies such as crayons, pencils, dry erase markers, and glue sticks in order to keep the learning at the forefront.
We are psyched to learn but we could use more tools.
Imagine for a moment that you stepped inside a classroom and on every student desk was a worksheet. How would you feel? Would that excite you and make you want to learn? My students and I don’t like worksheets. To us, they are boring. Instead, we love to complete hands-on projects, interactive notebook pages, hanging mobiles, and creative dioramas. In order to keep the worksheets where they belong and off of our desks we need some basic classroom supplies to replace what our supply monster has already eaten. Getting these much needed supplies would allow me to create engaging, interactive activities that make learning relevant and fun.
