My students need a garden cart to move soil, compost and heavy objects around the school yard as the garden is a distance from the school. We also need gloves, shovels, and cultivators!
The students of the S. Elementary School are kind, caring and compassionate. Our school is a small school that is part of a larger school district in Western Massachusetts. It is here that we foster growth and engage students in learning new things! We offer so many programs throughout the year to allow each student to be creative and unique.
The students of SES are very involved in the community.
Each year we participate in many activities involving the whole community. The children love attending our Veteran's Day ceremony, SES in Action Day and other amazing activities in the community.
My Project
We come from a rich farming community. This year the S. Elementary School garden is growing! We have asked one of our 6th grade classrooms to help us design a wonderful raised bed garden. In order for the garden to become a greater success, we need enough materials for students to have access to tools such as shovels, a cart, cultivators, pots, and gloves while working in the garden.
This project will enhance the STEM program at SES and allow our students to see and taste amazing produce that they helped grow!
Last year the children harvested so many tasty veggies that they were able to see grow from seeds into something they could taste!
