A huge part of our school's spirit and culture is comprised of the population of students who not only work to contribute to our academic culture of excellence, but also enhance it with their commitment and dedication to our athletic program.
RHS students are doing wonderful things.
They work hard in a variety of classes ranging from standard high school classes to college-level classes, contribute to the many honor societies represented in our state and nationwide, give back to our local community through various community service activities, and work hard to hold themselves and their teammates to high ethical standards. This is all in addition to the multiple hours before and after school to prepare for their sports of choice.
We are proud to say that their hard work outside of the game is also reflected during playing time and in our conference. We have had won multiple championships, produced state champions in swimming and wrestling, and made it to state level play off's in multiple sports.
My Project
The items from this project will help our student-athletes compete at a higher level. Due to the decrease in funding for athletics, and growing concern for player safety, these items will be pivotal in the development of skills for our athletes. Goalie gear for soccer and catcher gear for baseball and softball, to provide protection in sports where implements movement at high rates of speed. Appropriate netting for tennis is needed so regulation games can be played on campus. Items denoted for women's field hockey are also needed to ensure the eye safety of our women. Riverside would like to have a complete matching usable set of safety equipment for our women's team. This will be a small chance to support our program in addition to the hours of work put in from faculty, students, and families to raise funds to help support our athletes, and provide them with up to date equipment.
