Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

I am the School Librarian/ Media Specialist to almost 450 incredible elementary school students. Over 80% of our diverse students come from low economic backgrounds.

Even with all the added stress of the current school year, they step up to any challenges I set for them in during their library time.

I enjoy creating fun and clever activities where they can apply their learning. Even more, I love seeing them be successful.

My Project

Breakout activities in person and through distance learning are clever, educational, and fun! The kit allows for creative activities that stimulate critical thinking skills and collaboration.

As we return to the classroom, I want to provide engaging opportunities for them.

During this time of distance learning, the students have been spending much of their time starting at computer screens. I ask for 3 kits to be able to provide for social distancing and safety requirements in the library. I will be able to rotate them and have time to sanitize in between uses.
