My Students

My students are wonderful, talented children who are eager to learn. They wait for a new book each month to learn a new character trait. These books help us become better people.

Each student in our school is unique and amazing.

Their love of learning is infectious. When gathered on the rug and the new book of the month is introduced, student are enthralled and ready to hear the story. My personal goal is to teach students that "character is doing the right thing when nobody is looking." Our school's Book of the Month program helps every teacher in our school do this.

My Project

Using exemplary books such as this one, we help students realize positive character traits to emulate. The Invisible Boy is a fantastic story that will help students in every grade understand the importance of friendship. It will be kept in each classroom for all students to read and refer to at their leisure.

With this book, every student on every grade will read this book, work on projects related to the story, respond to higher order thinking questions, and discuss the character trait being portrayed.

Students will reflect on the book and how it has impacted their lives. One special grade will create a skit and put on a show about the book and character trait.
