Help me give my students an opportunity to bring history to life through the use of an iPad and QR codes.
This project expired on February 8, 2019.
Hooray! This project is fully funded
I have the privilege to teach Reading and Social Studies to 56 amazing 3rd graders from Oklahoma. They are always eager to learn and full of questions. They love hands-on activities and technology. However, a lot of my students come from low-income households, and only have access to technology at school. Our school strives to provide everything our students need, but our budget can only be stretched so far. Our class does have access to Chromebooks, which are great for a lot of things, but unfortunately they cannot scan QR codes. I believe giving my students the ability to scan codes will bring history to life!
My students will be able to use the iPad to scan QR codes for different learning activities. QR Codes are fun activities that I can do with my whole class or as a small group center. It will get my students up and moving from desk to desk while they explore important people and events from the past. This will help bring history to life instead of just reading about it in a history book. Students can also create book videos and turn them into QR codes using iMovie. Another thing I can do is put QR codes on our classroom library books, linking information about the author and book. As you can see they’re many possibilities to bring history to life using an IPad and QR codes.
I believe technology is the key to my students engagement and learning, and this iPad will help strengthen my students’ learning!
I am also asking for a protective case because no matter how careful children are accidents still happen.
