Help Teach My Students About The People Of The World!
My students need social studies book sets and other resources, especially those that focus on the multicultural nature of our world and talk about different customs.
This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
My students rarely get a chance to go anywhere out of their neighborhoods and have little sense of the world around them. I am hoping that with these resources, I can expand their horizons by showing them that there is a whole world full of people and that they are all different.
My students are awesome and soak in all that I teach them!
I want to use their current enthusiasm to learn about the world to teach them that there are all kinds of different cultures, communities and people in this world. My students rarely get out of their neighborhoods, let alone the city or state and really need to learn that there are many different people in the world who have different customs and traditions.
My Project
We live in a very connected yet multicultural world. My students' eyes will be opened by the requested resources because they will learn not only about different people and helpers in their own communities, but all around the world. Through their natural curiosity, they will learn acceptance and tolerance of the differences in people. The requested sets of books are exciting and detailed and tell about different people and cultures around the world. The huge blow up globe will be a real hit and the students will get a much better "hands on" understanding of where the continents are on the globe and their relationship to one another. I've also requested two game resources that will help my students learn about various landforms and develop map skills.
These resources are really important to enrich my students' curriculum and to help to make them world citizens.
It is very important that children learn at an early age to be accepting of differences among people.
