Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
I have been teaching for four years in a Title I school. The students I service come from a low socioeconomic area and most do not have the means for purchasing all the supplies necessary. To ensure to students are able to complete their schoolwork assignments, I am asking for a few more classroom supplies. This will ensure all of my students have all the materials they need un the classroom to create a positive, engaging learning environment. I also teach in an ICT classroom where I am the special education teacher.
My Project
These supplies will help my students who cannot afford to bring in simple school supplies. Most of my students do not even come to school with simple supplies like a pencil. Instead of continuously asking, they usually shut down and do not complete any work. This drastically affects their learning. The items I have selected will help the students complete their assignments on a daily basis. They will travel with me class to class and the students will have access to them across all their subject areas. By having these items accessible to these students, will make the difference to them.
