My students will be able to collaborate with their peers and even students from other schools with this technology!
We are at "war"...trying to share 20 iPads with 300 other students here at school!
Most classes have 25+ students in a class. My students are yearning for more easily accessible technology within the classroom!
I am "raising" a group of 25 eager 21st century learners who are highly motivated by the use of technology in the classroom! I am a teacher at a smaller neighborhood school, but have big aspirations for my students! We are doing what we can with our budget, but I believe that my students deserve all of the opportunities that a larger or wealthier school district can offer! We are a close knit community that is always giving back, so please help me give back to them!
My Project
The students were very involved in this process and drafted this list of uses for the iPads as a group: stretch our brains with research, strengthen our reading and math skills using Lexia and Reflex programs, become more confident and better speakers as we present projects and record them to share with the school and parents, technology and information at our fingertips at all times...our 3 laptops don't always work, read free online books in our reading area, scan QR codes and learn in a fun way, and get on ClassDojo to check our progress and points
They will gain confidence in using this tool and explore various programs and apps at our convenience without waiting for the school's iPads to be available.
I hope that they will also gain a lesson in determination as we fulfill this project.
We created this project as a class, worked together and hopefully we will be greatly rewarded. Thank you!
