I work at an elementary school where eighty-three percent of the students receive free or reduced-price lunch. The majority of my students come from another country and are new to the ways of our education system.
The majority of my students come from low income homes.
A large number of students are learning how to speak and read English for the first time. I started the school year off with fifty five fourth grade students and my numbers continued to climb throughout the year.
Due to learning being conducted at home now, teachers are having to be creative and use technology to connect to our students to teach our lessons.
If I was fortunate enough to receive the document camera I would be able to project all my books and materials onto a computer screen and then share them with my students.
I would be able to work in real time to demonstrate to my students how to work out their math problems. I can use manipulatives and interact with them for my students to grasp the concept.
