This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
This project is to provide funding and vital equipment for the baseball team. Our school district is Title I and most students do not have the ability or extra income to purchase baseball equipment to participate in extracurricular teams and life building sports. My students and players range from 14 to 18 and are all trying to graduate and decide what they want to do in life. The stress from economic struggle has put a extra burden as most students have to work nights or weekends in order to help the family dynamic. My players and students are a diverse and electric mix that despite hardships come together in sportsmanship and the classroom. The team has to fundraise and ask for support in order to provide supplies and travel to tournaments. Any help or donation would go a long way ay impacting a students' life. It truly takes a village. Thank you so much for your support.
My Project
This much-needed equipment will help keep players safe and increase the knowledge and practice ability of our players. Being able to locate pitches, know pitch speed and how to properly swing are foundation skills that can help players reach new heights and the next level. The bat will allow players a game certified new bat to share on the team and allow for better swings. The sliding pants will allow players to securely and safely slide and steal bases without risk of injury. Our players and team will be able to prepare and compete in the region and state level with increased training equipment.
