We are blessed to have such dedicated and hardworking students on our team. The robotics team operates like a junior JROTC and therefore offers opportunities for student leadership. Every member has a rank and some have specific billets. Students fill vital roles such as "Lead Programmer" or "Logistics Chief". These positions, or billets, are meaningful and carry a certain amount of responsibility. This structure works well for us because it allows multiple students to take charge of various projects at once. Our students do amazing work and are at "the ready" to tackle difficult tasks and missions.
My Project
Greetings from Louisiana! Big things are happening in this small town. We've recently established a FIRST LEGO League Explore (FLL) team and it was a great success. This year, we are hard at work trying to do the same thing at FIRST Tech Challenge (FTC) level. We will be competing in this season's Freight Frenzy Challenge, presented by Raytheon Technologies. If we are successful, we will create a STEM-based pathway for students from 6th grade through 12th grade. This is in a rural area where STEM opportunities for students are rare. Our students, the "Wolf-Bytes", are highly motivated and need equipment to help get started. We are seeking to get a 3D printer and a mobile toolbox to help us get started on our path. These items will go a long way towards bringing these students real-world experiences which are relevant skills that they will be able to take into the workplace with them later.
