Help Supply Our Classroom So We Can Have Fun Learning!
My students need a variety of supplies in order to be successful and enjoy learning. We need lots glue sticks, scissors, clipboards, pencils, and notebooks just to name a few.
My students are a great group who is very diverse in ability levels. With that being said, they all enjoy learning by being creative and using hands-on materials. My students do not always come with needed supplies. My students come from households with diverse income. Providing supplies would help take the burden from the parents of supplying their students so they can focus on helping their students at home.
With the help of this grant, I will be able to provide my students with supplies needed to learn using hands-on actives and have a fun learning environment.
In my rural school, we have an average class size with 20 to 1 student/teacher ratio. We currently have about 71% of our student body on free and reduced lunch. I teach two fifth grade classes in Math and Science. Both of my classes are very diverse in ability levels, ethnic backgrounds, home support, etc. This project would be a blessing to my students if funded.
My Project
My students enjoy learning in an environment that is fun and interactive! So, we learn math by using composition books that we cut and glue foldables into to make math fun and exciting! In order to continue learning/teaching in this way, we need a few supplies such as composition books, glue sticks, scissors, and pens! These few items would ensure that my students have needed the supplies in order to do their work even when money is tight at home. I never won't a student to feel different because they are not financially able to buy the needed supplies!
How exciting would it be to come to school and all needed supplies are at your fingertips?
Supplying my classroom with clipboards, my students will be able to easily move around the room to complete their work. We love to complete activities called scoots! This is where students work around the room to complete task cards that have been taped around the room. By having clipboards, students will easily be able to show all work and ensure a correct answer! Lastly, sometimes a student needs a pencil or an eraser and with this grant, I will be able to easily help out my students.
