Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My students are my heroes. My students are battling life threatening illnesses. One has end stage renal failure. All of my students are from low income households. My students are the most inspiring people I've ever met. My students are brave. I work with students in grades K-12 who have serious medical issues such as cancer. All of my students come to school ready to learn. It is a joy and a privilege to work with these students. Each day, they try their best in school while battling cancer or waiting for an organ transplant.
I work with students in grades K-12 who have serious and life-threatening medical conditions.
Some students have life-threatening conditions such as cancer. Other students are on the transplant list waiting for an organ transplant. A few students have been hit by a car or were in a car accident. Most of the students experience pain on a daily basis.
All of my students are very brave and a pleasure to work with. Each day, they try their best in school while battling cancer or waiting for an organ transplant. In addition to their serious medical problems, all of my students reside in high poverty .
My Project
My students need art supplies to help them create interactive notebooks and a speaker for our classroom computer. Students love to create interactive notebooks!
With these supplies the students will be able to create interactive learning notebooks.
The hands-on educational notebooks integrate art into their daily language arts and math lessons. Even when they are ill and receiving medical treatment, the students still attend school. Having an assortment of classroom supplies such as glue sticks, paper, notebooks, and markers will make it easier to complete classwork. Students enjoy creating educational projects, and we need art and writing supplies to create these projects. Since my students are under a great deal of stress and most of the students have chronic pain due to a serious medical condition, integrating art into our academic lessons is helpful.
Creating interactive notebooks and having a variety of supplies will help to brighten a sick child's day! The families love to see the interactive notebooks that we create in our class. The students learn valuable skills that they can have for the rest of their lives. The students also learn to use art supplies. They cherish the precious memories!
