Help Students with ADHD and Autism Stay Focused

My students need weighted sensory snakes and timer necklaces to help those with autism and ADHD.

My Students

Please help the students in my room who are already facing challenges when it comes to learning and the world around them.

Each year I have students in my room with ADHD and autism spectrum disorders.

They are challenged with staying focused, staying seated, and sensory issues. I have searched out different ways to try and help them with these issues. Some have worked and some have not. I just want to be able to relieve some of the stress of their disorders so that they can get the same education as the rest of my students.

My Project

I am requesting 2 weighted snakes which also aid with sensory issues. The weight helps students to stay focused and stay on task and when placed across the lap it reminds them to stay seated, like a seat belt. They are also filled with a sand-like material so the student can massage it, which will help with stress. I am also requesting the timer necklaces which will help my students who have trouble staying focused to be able to view how much time is left to complete a project or how much time they have left in a center. This would be something that I could use for all students while in centers. One of the partner pairs would wear it so that all students would know how much time was left to complete their work station.

This project is important because it levels the playing field for all types of learners.

It gives the students with disabilities and disorders the same chance to learn as the other students have.
