My school is a mullti-cultural and multi-lingual school in the Pacific Northwest. All students in our school qualify for free breakfast, lunch and snack. There are approximately 70 students in four third grade classrooms. Two of our classrooms are Spanish Immersion and the other two are neighborhood English classrooms.
Help me give my students books to read at home during distance learning .
These are very unusual times and circumstances for our students. They are adjusting to staying home away from teachers and friends. Now my students are learning from home. Some students have connected to distance learning through borrowed school laptops or parent phones. Books however are not part of our distance learning program and most students do not have books to read at home.
My Project
Distance learning has been difficult for my students to adjust to. But getting books in their hands will help to make distance learning more like the school they are used to.
Students will get multiple books to read at home for the remainder of the school year.
Books are chosen to entertain students and to help them learn. Books ordered are at student reading levels and of high interest. This will help students keep and increase their reading levels and fluency during the remainder of the distance learning school year.
