Help Students Engage in a Stable Environment After Harvey!
My students need a storage cabinet to store and lock up audio video equipment, supplies & books. Also, a rolling computer cart so the class can be mobile to broadcast live.
OHS is part of a small school distrtict in Southeast Texas near the Louisiana border. OISD has a very close-knit environment & have become closer since the devastation of Harvey.
The students have adapted very well to the unpleasant event of Harvey.
OHS is sharing our campus with the Junior High campus. OJH has given their campus to OES since the elementary is completely shut down due to the severity of water damage.
The students walk between campuses daily to attend classes held on the other campus due to the lack of space on each campus. They have regular classes held in the gym stands, the open foyer of the gym, the band hall with blue tarps for walls & classrooms with partial plywood walls.
Most students & families are living in trailers, with neighbors or in homes with no walls or proper flooring. Our students deserve to be put back in a healthy and stable environment.
My Project
My students need a storage cabinet to store audio video equipment, books and supplies in. This will help with organization and security of all materials.
My students need a rolling computer cart so they can actively engage in creating live on air broadcasts.
I teach Business Information Management 1, Audio Video Production 1 & Principles of Arts, Audio/Video Technology & Communications. Due to Harvey, we lost all wooden storage items; such as, shelving, cabinets and tables. These two items will help safely secure all books, audio video equipment and supplies. My students are looking forward to broadcasting live and will thoroughly enjoy the rolling cart.
