My students need Small-Group Teaching Easels, an Alphabet Mystery Box, Classroom Magnetic Letters, an Early math Activity Center, Fill It Up! Fine Motor Jars, a Magnetic Counting Maze, a Double-Sided Magnetic Write & Wipe Mini Board, Foam Sensory Paint, a Color Rings Sorting Board, and No-Spill Paint Cups.
Everyday, I work with students who constantly surprise me and show me there are no limits to learning. They have a desire to learn and a passion to achieve. I teach students grades K-4 with moderate to severe Autism Spectrum disorder. Most of my students are non verbal. They have significant to moderate delays in communication, social skills, cognitive skills and sensory needs. We are in need of sensory and fine motor materials to use during centers to help with independent and interactive learning. My students bring joy to others each day with their bright personalities and deserve to have as many learning opportunities as possible to help better their future!
My Project
My students need manipulatives and activities that focus on letter recognition, as well as math manipulatives to explore during Learning Center time. I'm requesting an Alphabet Mystery Box, Classroom Magnetic Letters, an Early math Activity Center, Fill It Up! Fine Motor Jars, a Magnetic Counting Maze, a Double-Sided Magnetic Write & Wipe Mini Board, and a Color Rings Sorting Board.
The small group teaching easels will be used at each center to help show students visuals with the magnetic letters.
Students will have the opportunity to show their answers to others using the write and wipe boards and imitate drawing to help with handwriting skills. The foam paint and no spill paint cups will help with sensory needs while painting. Most students with Autism enjoy tactile learning so many of the items requested will help with that sensory need!
Our students will use these materials to explore through hands-on learning! The activities will be used during Learning Center times throughout the day as we read, create, and count while learning together. Students will be able to use these manipulatives during our whole group and small group time.
