This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My students are energetic, engaged, happy learners. They delight in hands-on activities and learning through situations and active play. The more active I can make the learning, the better! They are interested in everything from art to music, science to math, good books to good games; it's for them!

Our school has become a STEAM school so science, technology, engineering, arts, and mathematics are emphasized and loved by our students.

Due to time or budget restrictions, they don't have access to much in the way of extra curricular activities and appreciate anything we can provide. Enthusiasm is the name of the game with them and variety and activity-related learning is something they love.

My Project

Our school is a newly minted STEAM Academy. We are setting-up a fabulous art room that all of the students will enjoy. Our young artists need prints of the work of famous artists for inspiration, along with paints and brushes to explore their own abilities. Our students have little opportunity to learn from famous artists, and this exposure will provide inspiration for our young artists!

STEAM students love Science and need garden tools and materials for the care of maintenance of our garden.

They enjoy planting and weeding, and making compost, but rarely have the opportunity with family because of busy schedules or lack of outdoor space. These materials will support students curiosity and understanding of plant life and nutrition.
