Help Special Needs Pre-K Learn in a Cooler Environment
Help me give my students A Good Learning Environment that will help those with Special Needs and Medical conditions. Our Classroom Temperature and humidity is too high and effects these children’s learning abilities. We desperately need Air conditioning.
Our students are very special. Our class supports special needs children with a variety of disabilities and some with severe medical conditions. Our Pre-K special needs students learn through school based programs along with learning through play. Students progress in speech and language support.
However, the classroom temperature is very hot and humid which greatly affects the learning of the children and hinders their ability to thrive.
We start our days with a temperature average of 83 deg. Then it gets up to 90 deg. by the end of the day with a humidity average of 67% in the summer months which can last up to half the school year.
My Project
We will install the donated air conditioners in our Classroom to bring the classroom temperature and humidity down to a level that is comfortable for the special needs of our children. This will greatly assist the children’s needs to have a continued thriving educational learning environment. Some children have medical conditions that worsen with heat and humidity. It is so important for our class to have air conditioning to provide the students with a comfortable learning environment and to minimize medical skin break outs from the heat. The classrooms current high temperature without air conditioning greatly affects the learning environment. Please help our Pre-K classroom to thrive with educational opportunities in a safe cool environment.
