Help me give my students a light table to use for learning in a fun, interactive way so that those with visual disabilities will be better able to see and manipulate the materials.

My Students

I have a classroom of 10 students from Pre-K through K. All of these students have moderate/severe disabilities. Several have vision disabilities as well. Many come from low income families and qualify for free/reduced-price lunch.

What makes my kids special is their positive attitudes and perseverance.

They come to school every day with smiles and eagerness to learn and explore. Even though my students have disabilities, they do not let it stop them from being the best that they can be!

My Project

Many of my students have visual disabilities. A light table will allow us to better present information to them in a format that they are better able to see visually.

It will allow us to present learning materials in a fun, interactive way that the students will find engaging.

It can allow them to better see shapes, colors, identify numbers and letters more easily because of the contrast from the light. It can also be used as a place to explore and build when used with magnetic tiles or manipulatives requested.

We will be able to use the letters to build words for beginning reading and sight word identification. Students will be able to see it better than when presented on paper or in a book.
