Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My day begins with 38 hugs, high fives and the sweetest greetings. My students come to school excited about what book we are going to read and which activities they get to complete that day. We set goals and celebrate when they are met, we console one another when we fall short. By the end of the day, we have shared hundreds of laughs, some tears and jokes aplenty.
We are a family.
We come from all walks of life and we learn so much from one another. We come from a small community and that means sports and cheer, Destination Imagination, the Cotton Festival, the high school play, Homecoming, the talent show, our Turkey Trot to our Bunny Hop, Donuts with Dad, Muffins with Mom, Daddy Daughter Dance and Mother Son Nerf War and Movies at the Park. Students may leave our classroom but they never leave our hearts.
My Project
The Get Your Teach On Conference is an amazing experience to gain invaluable and memorable teaching strategies and inspiration to take into the classroom. Some inspirational speakers include Rachel Hollis, Wade King and Amy Lemons! The conference includes access to online resources and opportunities to win some amazing classroom supplies and materials.
Get Your Teach On is like the ultimate rock concert for educators!
My takeaways from this conference will benefit my students as I continue to grow as an educator and utilize strategies and create engaging learning experiences to bring into our classroom. My students are the reason "why" I do what I do.
