Scott Eagle Theatre is the award winning drama program at Scott High School. Last year my students received an award for best make-up design from the Cincinnati Cappies. Our make-up tool kits are heavily used. With these new tools our make-up crew can take their art to the next level!
My students are wildly passionate about theatre and continuously produce high quality, award winning shows.
Scott Eagle Theatre is a comprehensive program, in that the students are involved at every level, from conception to production, on stage and back stage. Our school is situated in a small suburban community but the students represent a range of socio-economic backgrounds. Many of these students have never been to a professional theatre and this program is their first, and sometimes only, exposure to the theatre arts.
My Project
With these tools my students will be able to take their make-up designs to a new level. Our dressing room is a portion of the backstage area that has been sectioned off with curtains. This system has worked but the curtains are in bad shape and desperately need to be replaced. Professional quality make-up brushes will allow students to be able to conceive of and achieve advanced techniques (special effects, age make-up, etc) with better accuracy and quality. By creating organized make-up stations, the students can better manage and conserve the materials they are working with which will save us money in the long term.

My students have tackled difficult texts and delivered stunning performances. Much of our space, materials, and tools are beginning to show their age and are becoming roadblocks to our ability to maintain the level of quality that has become expected, both by the community and the students who make up this group.
