My students need materials and school supplies for the upcoming school year. I want to provide materials to all students and create a positive learning environment.
This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
When the odds are against us, we still work hard to be successful future leaders. My students attend school in a Title 1 school district with over 96% of the students receiving free or reduced lunch. These students continue to show growth and determination in all they do. We need community support to collect school supplies for the upcoming year. Due to most students coming from low-income families, school supplies are not always provided and maintained throughout the school year. I would like to obtain school supplies to keep in the classroom to ensure all students are prepared and ready to learn. Help me help students who are in need.
My Project
One of my classroom rules is to be prepared and be ready to learn. In order to do this students need basic supplies, and some students who come from low income families do not always have the basic supplies. I want to start off the next school year with a surplus of materials so that all students will have what they need to be successful in my classroom. Students will use pencils and paper daily through the school year for note taking, practicing problems, and taking tests. We need markers to work out math problems or answer questions on our personal dry erase boards throughout the lesson which allows me to informally check for student understanding. The iPad cases are to protect and preserve the iPads we received from a previous project. Students need folders to keep notes and papers organized as well as to keep handouts given by teacher. Finally, students will need the pens to check and grade assignment to reflect and correct weekly assignments. Your donations will help our classroom stay organized and allow every students to have what they need this school year.
