My Students

I work with ED/BD students virtually, grades 6-8. I have a 8:1:1 standard classroom with 10 students who are learning from home virtually. Most of my students live at home with one adult and siblings. My students all are guaranteed free school breakfast and lunch, since we are in a high need area and district. M students mostly live in an apartment, or space that they need to share, which is preventing them from being able to focus 100% on school.

My Project

I have the honor of working with special needs students virtually while we are in a global pandemic. Unfortunately, my students do not have working devices, although the board of Education has had since March to deliver devices. I was hoping to get the the devices they deserve so they can sign in, socialize with their peers, learn to communicate, function on technology, and keep up with their assignments. It is so important that they are not missing out on their education and socialization, and if I had the money, I would pay for them all to have tablets that work! We are still waiting for two students to sign in, they still do not have a device. I will wait forever if I do not act myself. Also, my students live at home with their siblings and need headphones so that they can focus in on their lesson without being distracted with everything else going on. Most students also have internet connection issues since they cannot afford to pay for wifi. Another issue the DOE was suppose to take care of, but with millions of students out there I get it. These iPads that I chose are the most updated and they come with wifi!!!!!!!! Please help my babies so they can be the best that they can be! They are our future!
