My Students

My students are eager, motivated, and enthusiastic learners. They search for texts that will challenge them and help them to become more powerful readers. Our classroom resources, however, are limited.

They are kind, energetic, and hard-working, and deserve every opportunity to become more powerful readers and writers.

They consistently seek opportunities to serve not only their school, but their community. They are certainly a group of children who will change the world. I am a better teacher, and person, for knowing them.

My Project

My fifth graders have embraced the roles of researchers. They know how useful online research is. While writing biographies, they came across several wonderful videos detailing the lives of the people they're researching. To maximize the efficiency of online research, I want them to be able to watch the information packed videos. To do this, we need a classroom set of headphones!

We detail all of our literacy strategies on anchor charts throughout the room.

As the year has gone, so have our anchor chart markers! We need to replace and refresh our selection of chart markers to keep our learning posters active.
