This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

I love that my students are growing every day! They are learning letters, letter sounds, numbers recognition! Due to the pandemic, a lot of my kiddos didn’t attend school in person and some not at all. This year they came to me very low and each and every day they are slowly improving in writing, cutting, spelling and sounding out CVC words. It’s amazing to see them grow. They are all so unique and creative that they all bring something different to my classroom. We try our best and do our very best every day!

My Project

These materials will help my students continue to learn by replenishing some of their school supplies such as their journals for math and reading. We have come so far in our learning that our journals have reached the end for some students.

With these extra supplies, my students can continue to learn and grow before moving on to 2nd grade.

Journals are a big deal in 1st grade because we are learning to write and punctuate. As we write, my littles make mistakes as everyone does so, erasers are essential to our every day learning.
