Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
The amazing students at our school are bright individuals who face significant hurdles in terms of obtaining a quality education. Most students at our school are from low-income areas. My goal is to assist them in any way necessary to ensure their future success.
Help us to rebuild a once-thriving music program and ensure its lasting success.
At our school of over 1,400 students, many face significant challenges in their learning process. Our Title I school has been on an improving trend, especially in the arts. These tools will help us to achieve our goals in recreating a robust and lasting chorus program where students feel safe and excited to learn.
My Project
Due to a recent, devastating flood in our classroom, a significant amount of sheet music, folders, textbooks, and instruments were destroyed. With the help of the community, we were able to replace our piano, which was also damaged beyond repair. Now, we're working hard to replace our low-quality folders with new, durable chorus folders that will better protect our music in the future. They also provide our students with a professional appearance for our future performances, which is crucial to overcoming performance anxiety and boosting student confidence.
