Help Refugee Students Use Trauma Informed Art Therapy to Heal

My Project

I am an ENL teacher. This is round 2 for pens in my classroom. Our area (Buffalo) suffered an incredible tragedy. The first Monday back to school after this tragedy my students needed a space and opportunity to connect with each other about their feelings. I was blessed and fortunate to provide the pens I had and the space for this healing process to start. It was incredibly beautiful to see my ENL students and native English speaking students come together and connect using the universal language of art. I would love to grow this ability to bring all of these students together using 3D pens while still incorporating my refugees and native English speakers while participating in trauma informed art. I believe art will unite us and help us heal together.
