My Students

We belong to a small school located in South Dakota. Our district is made up of two small communities. The larger community has a population of less than 600 people. The smaller community has less than 300 people. Both communities are involved and dedicated to the children in our district.

My kindergarten classroom is made up of 27 students that come each day eager to learn and explore.

Each year, our classroom is made up of students that come from diverse backgrounds. The families are supportive of each other and dedicated to our community, as well as, our district. Teachers and staff play a major role in the development of students learning, but also have a large impact on each student's life.

My Project

The wobble seats will help my small groups with their "wiggles". During math and guided reading my students work in small groups. They are currently using crates with lids for seating. They sit lower to the ground and it seems to lead to more wiggles during their small group time. The wobble seats will get them sitting higher and hopefully provide enough movement to help them to focus on their math and reading. Every kindergarten student will benefit from the purchase of these wobble seats. Appropriate seating will better enhance their learning.
