My students need all new supplies such as glitter, paint, crayons, and pencils in order to begin rebuilding out classroom after Hurricane Sandy destroyed it.
Hurricane Sandy was devastating for our community in Long Beach, NY. Unfortunately most of our school, including our special education classroom, was completely destroyed and we need to rebuild everything from the ground up. Please help rebuild so we can continue to help our students succeed!
I teach a self contained special education classroom every morning and then every afternoon we mainstream into an integrated-co teaching classroom in the afternoon.
My students are currently in 4th grade. They are a group of students who enjoy learning and look forward each day to the new adventures we embark on in school.
My Project
I am requesting all new supplies to get our classroom started. We need the basics, such as crayons, paper, sentence strips, organizers, etc. Our classroom lost everything from floor to ceiling. We are currently displaced and these basic supplies will help us once we are able to get back to our school. These materials will enable us to begin the learning process once we get home to our school.
This project is so important for our students.
We would like to rebuild our school so that our children can come back to a building, when it is ready to open, in a safe and loving environment. These items can help rebuild and allow students to have materials that we once had before Hurricane Sandy came through.
