This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

Go TEAM! We never leave practice or a meeting without our chant. The pride the girls have in their team and school is unmatched in my 30 plus years of coaching experience. Being involved in a year round sport comes with many perks. One of them is getting to know your student-athletes up close and personal. While that may be a scary thought for some, with these girls it has been a blast.

We are one of the most diverse high schools in the country.

Students come from all over the world and from every socio-economic background. Even the talent level ranges from totally unskilled beginners to world champions. One of our proudest achievements is the average retention rate is over 90% from our 9th graders to graduation four years later. While many of our youth run for the pure joy of the sport some have lofty goals and compete for the Gold!

My Project

Track and field training is made up of many components. Our student-athletes prepare for distance running, sprints throws and jumps. Each of those disciplines requires special training specific to those events. It is our goal to obtain equipment that all students can use to better themselves.

It is important that we give everyone that opportunity to succeed.

The Pull Up bands we would like to purchase are able to be used in a variety of ways. Sprinters can use them for strength training and distance runners can improve their form.
