My class is made up of a wonderful group of students who come to school with bright smiles and positive attitudes. Since few attended preschool before coming to my class, we have a lot of ground to cover. Most of my students are learning English as a second language, making their first year in school a little more challenging. All of my students qualify for free breakfast and lunch and Second Harvest Food Bank comes to our school each month to bring healthy fruits and vegetables to them.
My Project
Choosing which is the best seating arrangement and giving my students the opportunity to make appropriate choices are just some of the many benefits that come with alternative seating. With these alternative seats, my students will be able to work independently and collaboratively as they prepare to be 21st Century learners.
In this proposal, I am asking for alternative seating including a 4 pack of chair balls, a 5 pack of stools and two backrests.
I envision my students sitting in these seats and working alone, with a partner or group on a project. With the alternative seating, my students will be more focused and productive while preparing them to work with others. There will be fewer behavior problems with these type of seating because everyone will have their own space to work and can change that work space if needed. Alternative seating will make my students more successful than ever!
Even though they are just five-year-olds, they will work independently and other students on meaningful work in a comfortable setting. Please help prepare my students for the future! Thank you!
