Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
We are the Spartans of Scarborough High School in Houston, TX. I am Coach Williams and I have the absolute pleasure of coaching 45 outstanding student athletes. Unfortunately, like many other inner city schools we receive 0 funding for any activities or supplies that we need.
Our players work hard on and off the field to play the sport they love, help me in providing the best the experience of the high school careers.
We are extremely grateful for any contributions that you are willing to provide. With your help we will be able to provide memories that will last a life time for our student athletes!
My Project
We would like to give our players the opportunity to participate in a tournament before our season starts. Many of our students never leave the small radius of their neighborhoods. For a lot of players of our players soccer is everything and the sole motivator in their lives, I have the great pleasure and responsibility in providing my student atheletes with the best experience and show them how soccer and the qualities we stress such as integrity, commitment and dedication will help improve their lives. We want to take our teams to a preseason tournament to give our students new experiences outside of the inner city. With this tournament we are looking to provide a students an experience that will show them a glimpse of life outside of their neighborhoods.
