Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
I have the privilege to teach an amazing group of students. Every year I look forward to meeting my new students and providing the best education I can for them. My students live in a very high poverty area and 95% of our students receive free or reduced-price lunch. We have one of the largest student populations in our district and many of my students don't have access to technology at home. Thankfully over the last two years, I’ve been able to bring technology in the classroom.
My students come to school everyday and are excited to learn and explore new things.
This year I’m excited to be adding new technology that I just got funded through DonorsChoose.org. I know I have some of the best students ever and they deserve the best.
My Project
This year my students are super excited to have tablets to use in our classroom. We are the only second grade class in our school that has tablets, so all of my students feel extra special to be able to use them. Thanks to our other project getting fully funded, we were able to double the amount of technology we have. Unfortunately, half of our tablets don't have cases or screen protectors, so they are at risk of getting broken.
The screen protectors and cases will help to keep our classroom tablets safe and make sure they last for years to come.
