My Students

I have the honor of working at the unique site of PS 256 located in Syosset. My students live as residents at the school mandated by the courts. My students have the opportunity to change their lives since they are given second chances. They are sent to my location since they cannot receive the education they need in a public school environment. I am dedicated to motivate my students to change their lives around, be successful in their educational careers, and to make a difference in their lives.

My Project

Having a working printer in my classroom will help me provide the best materials for my students. With the printer, I will be able to have access to materials at all time, be able to provide kinesthetic learning to my students, as well as engage students in what I am teaching them. My students seem to love having something everyday to complete so they can feel accomplished. My students adapt to hand structure and routines very well and having materials at all times would be very beneficial for them. Working with the ED and BD population, having a printer would greatly benefit me as a new teacher in order to keep my students fully engaged. Also, having my own printer will help save me money and trips to Staples for printing my materials. The donations for this project will improve my classroom by reducing the amount of behavioral issues, because I will be able to provide the appropriate stimulation that my students need, but cannot voice, due to their disabilities.
