I teach eighteen wonderful children in the New York City area. Many of these children come from low-income families and do not have the resources to enhance their academic skills.
These children are fun-loving and full of life and they deserve to have the resources they need to help them succeed in school.
We have a great school, but due to budget cuts, it's hard to get the funds for the materials we need in the classroom. You can help make a difference in these children's lives.
My Project
My children love pretzels. During snack time many of the children don't bring in snacks. I feel horrible when they children are sitting there without snack. I offer them crackers but they are tired of them. I asked them what they would like and they told me pretzels and Walker cookies. I didn't know what Walker cookies were and they told me butter cookies. I bought a box for the class and the children loved them. Every child should have a snack they like to eat and not be hungry. They also asked if we could make pretzels. I found a great pretzel kit.
